CLUB LETTER & AGREEMENT FORM
YOUTH TEAM — FC WOOD GREEN
Dear Parents/Carers,
As an England accredited football club, we pride ourselves for the positive environment we offer to the community and existing members. That being said, thank you for considering in signing your child(s) with FC Wood Green for the forthcoming football season. While we are delighted to have you all, we need you to be aware of some key information listed below.
Competition
In the football season 2026/27 (September–May), we will compete in the North London Youth League, with all fixtures on Sundays, and kick-off times varying between 9:30am to 2:00pm. All league and cup fixtures to take place within a ten-mile radius of the North London region. All home games to take place at The Latymer School, 9:30am kick-off.
Training
During the full academic year (September–July [except during school holidays or particular events/occasions]), training sessions will take place Wednesday (6:00pm) and Saturday (10:00am) primarily at The Latymer School, N9 9TN. Attending these sessions will enable your child(s) to process relevant information; such as the structure of the club’s vision, the building of team cohesion, and exercises that will support players’ development. That being said, all players will receive professional coaching from the club’s UEFA B licence and FA-qualified coaches, and as a result concluding the season with enhanced physical development, better understanding of the game, increasing levels of maturity from a psychological aspect, and a much-improved technical ability.
Methodology
FC Wood Green methodologies are a combination of the details derived from nations such as Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, USA and UK. Such details are developed through working with multiple professional clubs and specialists from those nations. This not only focuses on technical development, but also on instilling essential values such as teamwork, discipline and respect. Such a multi-cultural philosophy offers an enriching environment where participants are able to feel empowered as players and people.
Our primary focus is the long-term, holistic development of every young player. While players will naturally spend the majority of the season operating in what is currently their strongest position, we actively integrate positional rotations into our match-day and training environments.
This means players will occasionally experience different roles across the pitch—including taking a turn as a goalkeeper, provided the timing and context are right. Rotating positions is a crucial educational tool in youth football. It expands a player's tactical understanding, improves their adaptability, and helps them appreciate the specific challenges their teammates face in different areas of the pitch.
These rotations are not random; they are practiced with relevance and context. They are designed to challenge the players just enough to spur their growth, building a more complete, well-rounded footballing intelligence over time.
Registration and Subscription, 2026/2027
Having developed a better understanding of the environment your child(s) is entering, you must complete and sign the club agreement form (below), and return along with the annual membership/subscription fee, either through bank-transfer or cash; this payment can be made in three separate instalments:
£250 by 23ʳᵈ August
£250 by 20ᵗʰ September
£180 by 25ᵗʰ October
This package will translate that no fees are to be paid during official Wednesday and Saturday training sessions (Sept–Jul), as well as official league/cup fixtures (Sept–May). Please note that the match-day kit, training wear, and if/any additional training sessions/events will require separate fees. Any concerns with payments, please ensure you communicate with the club before the deadline date.

Juyel Hussain

A GUIDE FOR PARENTS/CARERS IN FOOTBALL
Parents and carers play an absolutely vital role in a child’s footballing journey. Alongside a child’s own personality and ability, your support is the biggest factor in ensuring they play for the pure joy of the game. Over the years, experience shows that a positive, pressure-free environment keeps children engaged and progressing, whereas the pressure to perform for adults can unfortunately cause them to lose their love for the sport.
At FC Wood Green, our environment is designed around inclusivity, positivity, and harmony. When a player joins us, we see it as a partnership with you. By keeping you engaged and in the loop with our coaching vision, we ensure everyone is on the same page. Having us all working together vastly increases the chances of maintaining a safe, fun, and progressive space for the team.
KEY CONSIDERATIONS FOR SUPPORTIVE PARENTS/CARERS
Children develop at their own pace and react to match situations differently. Our core intention is to provide a highly rewarding experience that helps them appreciate and enjoy the game. First and foremost, it is their game and they are playing for their team. It is completely natural that they won’t always see the game, or make decisions, exactly the way an adult might.
During training and matches, we kindly ask that you entrust the footballing guidance to the coaches. If a young player receives instructions from both the coach and the side-lines, it can quickly become confusing. At these younger age groups, mixed messages can actually slow down their decision-making and hinder their performance on the pitch.
For this reason, we ask that parents refrain from coaching or shouting tactical instructions from the side. However, there is a massive difference between instruction and encouragement — We absolutely love hearing you applaud, cheer, and praise good play. Your positive energy and fantastic support on the side-lines make a huge difference, and we fully encourage you to keep that up.
